my ex-fiance, john, got suckered into buying into a cruise from a telemarketer. you know, “pay now, cruise later”? he bought four tickets: him, me, his mom, and his mom’s wife.
fast forward a couple of months to new year’s eve: we’re at dinner & he proposes. i accept, and he drops this one on me: “you remember that cruise we’re going to take? it’s really our honeymoon.”
“that your mom and her wife are going on?”
“i invited them so you have someone to talk to.”
i should have ended it then and there, but i didn’t. at least i didn’t marry him
